She understood the value of hard work at an early age and applied it to her schoolwork, athletics, and eventually to her career. She was introduced to accounting through her degree program in college. Melissa dove into her required accounting courses and quickly realized it was her calling. She immediately began focusing on an accounting career and eventually found her footing as an accounting assistant with a Houston-based homebuilder. Over the next 10 years, Melissa was recruited by various builders to lead their internal operations functions. Utilizing her construction and homebuilding knowledge, Melissa obtained a real estate license and secured a position with a top residential real estate office in Houston where she became a co-owner and managing director for the company.
Bringing a rare combination of accounting and real estate expertise to GWM clients, Melissa is adept at helping her clients navigate complex tax matters, residential real estate transactions, and business planning. More importantly, she understands the intricacies of running a business and how the pieces fit together. Her clients appreciate her knowledge, thorough communication, and empowering spirit.
When she’s not thinking about numbers, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to her best friend, business partner, and the love of her life. She is a mother to two boys and three furry children. She also makes time to work out and loves to travel. Her guilty pleasure is following fashion trends and creating her own styles.
